Usha Martin, as a corporate citizen, has been deeply committed towards social development in rural areas. As a part of CSR, we have been actively involved in transforming the rural life of Jharkhand in India, by effectively emphasizing on Natural Resource Management, Health, Sanitation, Education, Livelihood & Financial Inclusion, Infrastructure Development, and Empowering Differently Abled Individuals. The activities are undertaken through our CSR wing, Usha Martin Foundation, located at Ranchi, concentrated in the backward villages of Jharkhand.

Our approach has been to enhance prosperity in the community by empowering the people, working together with them as partners, building their skills and capabilities, and putting the local resources to the best use for a sustainable development.

Empowering people to evolve an integrated process by which people define their own needs, manage their own resources and make their own decisions, ensuring equitable and sustainable development, through convergent efforts of Government, Corporate, NGOs, Scientific Institutes and Beneficiaries, based on the Principle of (Public - Private - Peoples Partnership).
Addressing waterbody restoration, adoption of productive agricultural methods, soil preservation & social forestry.
Addressing preventive care through mobile camps, health counselling in schools, nutrition promotion, and cataract operations.
Providing support in operating a school for the underprivileged including repairs & maintenance of schools, conducting yoga classes, and building awareness of the environment.
Supporting skill development courses like electrician, setting up solar panels, accounting software, beautician, motor servicing & vocational training.
Promoting sports activities in school, solar light installation, access to safe drinking water, repairing of village library, anganwadi, etc.
Capacity building of disabled on life skill education, caregivers, distribution of aids & appliances.
