Health & Nutrition Awareness at Government School

As part of our continued commitment to community well-being, the Usha Martin Foundation recently organized a health and nutrition awareness program for students at Government School, Mahilong, Ranchi. The initiative aimed to educate children on healthy lifestyle practices, balanced nutrition, and the importance of physical activity through interactive and engaging sessions.

The program saw enthusiastic participation from students, featuring expert-led discussions, creative learning activities, and peer presentations. Over two days, 117 students from classes VI to VIII actively participated in sessions that combined expert guidance, peer learning, and creative engagement. Key topics covered included personal hygiene, disease prevention, sleep, hydration, and the benefits of outdoor play. Students also learned to distinguish between healthy and junk food, explored the components of a balanced diet, and identified locally available nutritious alternatives.

In a creative activity titled “Know Your Organs,” students illustrated and explained vital human organs, while a fruit presentation encouraged them to share insights on the nutritional benefits of everyday fruits.

The CSR team remains dedicated to supporting holistic development and fostering sustainable well-being in the rural communities we serve.
