EMM Corp (European Management & Marine Corporation), Usha Martin’s international service centre in Scotland, recently had the honour of attending a significant event at the Scottish Parliament. The event, supported by MSP Jackie Baillie, was hosted by the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), bringing attention to the vital role of the lifting industry.
The LEEA’s message resonated strongly: "Our industry is hidden, but its impact is profound." As one of the leading players in the lifting industry, EMM Corp was proud to stand alongside others in acknowledging the sector’s critical role in various industries worldwide—from construction to marine, and more. The event highlighted how integral the lifting equipment sector is to daily operations, as well as the growing challenges that come with a shortage of skilled professionals.
A key focus of the event was the LEEA’s ongoing commitment to addressing the skills shortage within the lifting industry. The association emphasized the importance of encouraging young people to explore careers in this sector and is actively working to create clear pathways into this field.
We’re excited to see the lifting industry gaining greater recognition, and we’re proud to play a part in supporting these efforts. We’re committed to supporting Scottish Apprenticeships, as we believe in nurturing and developing the next generation of talent that will shape the future of our field.
At EMM Corp, we understand the importance of investing in future talent, and our involvement in the Scottish Apprenticeship programme is just one of the ways we are contributing to the growth and sustainability of the lifting industry. As proud members of the LEEA, we're committed to ensuring the continued success of our industry, focusing on skills development and inspiring the next generation of lifting professionals.
