Accomplishment of the New Service Project by our international subsidiary De Ruiter Staalkabel B.V.

Usha Martin

Our international subsidiary in Netherlands, De Ruiter Staalkabel, has been recently awarded with a major service project by Liebherr Maritime Benelux B.V. to assist towards Class Renewal and boom extension for Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s vessel, known as Blue Tern. The complete service was executed using our advanced mobile spooling machines, 40T traction winch and state-of-the art Magneto Inductive Rope Testing (MRT) inspection device. Our expert team executed the overall reeving for all the wire ropes, which includes main hoist rope & auxiliary rope on Liebherr BOS 45000-1200 crane, spooling of secondary auxiliary rope around its winch and replacing the ropes on Blue Tern’s secondary crane. The main hoist was installed after conducting MRT inspection on the complete wire rope.

The project took place in Denmark and was completed within a period of one month in three different phases. Despite of challenging weather conditions, the entire service was safely delivered within the scheduled time frame. During operation, we received continuous support and smooth collaboration from the crew members of both Liebherr Maritime Benelux and Blue Tern. We are thankful towards their great cooperation and look forward to our next joint project.

This remarkable project again epitomize our global capabilities in offering valued added services and customised solutions to meet specific needs of our customers.
