On the occasion of International Youth Day, Jharkhand Governor Mr. Santosh Kumar Gangwar honoured Dr. Mayank Murari, Head of Usha Martin Foundation, for his contribution to rural development, tribal issues, and creative writing. The programme was jointly organised by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Utsav platform in Ranchi.
Dr. Murari has been actively engaged in writing, research, and rural development for over three decades, with his work focusing on Indian life and culture, history, traditions and heritage, and ethical and human values in contemporary society. As Head of Usha Martin Foundation, he continues to use his experience in social thought to strengthen the Usha Martin Foundation's initiatives in health, education, livelihoods, and human resource development across rural communities.
During the ceremony, Dr. Murari was presented with a Shala Odhakar Samman and a certificate of appreciation, adding to a long list of honours for his literary and social contributions, including the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Creative Writing Award, Sahitya Akademi Ramdayal Munda Kathaitar Samman, and Jharkhand Sahityodaya Gaurav Samman, among others.
An author and social thinker, Dr. Murari has written more than 20 books and over 700 reports and articles over the past 30 years and has served in senior roles across CSR and PR organisations working towards community development and empowerment.
