This achievement marks a major milestone in our manufacturing capabilities. The 84-meter effective working length (EWL) Ocean fibre Sling, the longest ever produced at Brunton Shaw UK, has been engineered to meet the rigorous demands of offshore wind operations, where scale, strength, and reliability are critical.
With a minimum breaking load (MBL) of 1,850 tons, the sling offers exceptional performance in handling extreme loads and operating in harsh environments. Its precise length tolerance of just +9 mm across the full span underscores the high standards of accuracy and quality control achieved.
This project further demonstrates our ability to deliver at scale with engineering excellence, supporting the continued growth of the offshore wind sector. Production is already underway for an even larger 101-meter EWL Ocean fibre Sling, pushing the boundaries of our capabilities even further.
